Per
kassrachel, the guidelines, should you choose to accept them (acceptance optional), for Mr. Meme are as follows:
1. Tell me a random fact about you, and 2. I will ask you five questions, and 3. Propagate the meme when you post your answers. Feel free to dive in, or not, as you are so moved (or not).
( kass had the following questions for me )
My random fact was one to describe one of my borderline OCD tendencies: when I pluck my eyelashes periodically to avoid them getting in my eyes, I feel compelled to pluck at least ten (at least twenty is ideal).
And now I'm going to try out a combination of possible insomnia remedies--reading in the tub with a glass of wine. If that doesn't work, maybe tomorrow I'll try afternoon napping after a brisk walk around the lake and a valerian cooldown.

Cookies and a Meme!
Dec. 10th, 2006 12:03 amHad the successor to last year's pie contest/hootenany this afternoon (this year, we did cookies), and lots of fun (and carbohydrates) were had. Now, after puzzle pirating and a bit of protein, a meme.
The first-sentences*-of-the-first-public-post-of-each-month meme hereby ensues:
( the rissy (public) year in review )
* For first sentences with a exclamatory like "Yay!" I'm including the next sentence. Because I can.
P.S. Thanks for the resume advice giving, folks!

I was tagged by
steluch, and I obey:
Instructions:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag five people.
"He was working as a security guard at Potomac Mills Mall when she met him. He told her it was only a temporary job until his business took off.
"What business was that?"
"He was a bounty hunter."
-from Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich
If I had done this at work before I left, it would have been a selection from the California Redevelopment Assoc's Redevelopment in CA guide, 1995 edition. But I wanted out.
Note of amusement: Two of the most problematic (and linked) forms from last week's training are Schedules T & A. Or, as I hastily amended, Schedules A & T.
i tag:
cybersattva,
dooneling,
nadyezhda (if you look @
steluch's entry, you'll see why),
osirusbrisbane, and
thomascantor.

Memeage waiting for Election results
Jun. 6th, 2006 11:27 pmAm periodically clicking reload to check election results. What better way to fill in the between reload gaps than a little meme-age? Gakked from sanj, etc.
ETA: Instructions are basically to set your shukebox/ipod/etc. on random, and see what they deal you.]
( My movie, with soundtrack, is very strange. )
May the best peeps win. Or at least the ok peeps, given this election.

What's up in Rissylandia
Feb. 19th, 2006 09:16 pm( long weekends=a happy rissymonster, and being sick=stinky )
( local stuff )
In other news, I got me one of those Johari windows: http://kevan.org/johari?name=rissymonster
I also got a Nohari window, but I'm less fond of its options for negative adjectives: http://kevan.org/nohari?name=rissymonster
Were I to choose negative adjectives for myself from a wider array of options (aka the english language), I'd go for things like: lazy, gluttonous, standoffish, angry, unforgiving and noncommunicative. Not that I'm these things all or most of the time, but I see them as flaws I'm working on.
Have at ye, at your option.
Hugs!

Happy New Year, yo!
Jan. 3rd, 2006 06:24 pmWe are back in Oaksterdam after the whirlwind tour of various east coast points.
I'm feeling a little too fried to post travelogue, but I love y'all and can talk about that, even if I didn't get to see you, and so meme-age:
Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like you. Then put this in your own journal, and spread the love.

Serenity meme
Oct. 4th, 2005 07:43 amI was pretty down with Serenity--now I just need to get my hands on the rest of Firefly. I also am a bit surprised at my results (although low on Jayne is not shocking (cuz funny yes, but me, no)), though I'm finding it interesting to see the combos that form folks' top three assignments.
![]() | You scored as River Tam. The Fugitive. You are clever and dangerous, which is a nasty combination. The fact you are crazy too just adds to your charm. They did bad things to you, but you know their secrets. They will regret how they made you.

Moments of joy ahoy!
Sep. 13th, 2005 10:25 pmTag, I'm it! And I get to experiment and see if I'm reading the FAQ re: lj tags right. If links work, I am. If not, poopy.
phaedrusdeinus hath tagged me, having been tagged himself by
sigerson, to "List 10 things (in no particular order) that bring you a moment of joy and tag 5 friends to do the same."
( Things of Joy )
Let's see. Can I tag:
steluch,
misuba,
stealthmuffin,
bayleaf, and
nadyezhda?
