I thnk this explains a lot, actually...

The following exchange took place via email with my mother:
Me: At the 15th anniversary party for one of our non-profits this evening, there was a chocolate fountain (with madeleine cookies on a stick!). Your eldest managed (barely) not to pull a vicar of dibley.* ;)

* The Vicar of Dibley is some pretty funny stuff, yo. The awesome/awful Christmas carol/chocolate fountain episode is especially brilliant.
