I vote against mules - I think they make people walk funny to keep them on, and also discourage a good healthy stride.
The Naots look both charming, sturdy, and reasonably comfortable. I say good choice.
In general, I'm a big fan of closed back clogs, because they're usually easy to get on and off, but also stay on very well. And they're usually waterproof right up to the top. And a well made pair can look rather sharp with trousers (if long enough), and they seem to last a good long time. Also, the blocky thick sole might be just what you need while in recovery.
